Deane Roofing & Cladding supplied and installed all roofing and cladding systems on this striking façade of the newly refurbished Cricket Stadium in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

The façade was complex in both its design and installation. It was curved on two planes and had a significant build up behind the façade sheeting. The elevations were broken by framed out and boxed areas of glazing.

The design element of this project was the key to its success. Every detail had to be worked out in advance. The layouts were set out based on support locations well in advance and it was important that this was constantly appraised as the structure was being built. Due to the tolerances and advanced ordering of materials, the setting out would be crucial.

The Alucobond entrance feature pod which, essentially a 3D rhomboid was extremely complex as all perimeters contained preformed corners in some cases with 3 faces where two elevations and a soffit meet.

The substructure support required extreme accuracy during installation to make sure this 3D jigsaw all fit together.

In addition to the wall elements we supplied and installed the Kingspan RW panel to the main stadium roof, Sarnafil membrane to individual spaces and some hot melt at podium level.

The project was resourced with the necessary skilled labour for the various systems to meet all the schedule milestones. Quality was monitored by our QMS onsite and despite the fragile nature of the finished panels, the installation was defect free.We were delighted to be involved in such a landmark and prestigious project.
